NMHU Roswell

In Partnership With Eastern New Mexico University- Roswell

New Mexico Highlands University School of Social Work in Partnership with Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell offers Council on Social Work Education accredited BSW and MSW programs in southeastern New Mexico.

Program offices are located on the ENMU-R campus and offer evening and weekend classes at Eastern New Mexico University.

These academic programs provide an opportunity for students to attend class without having to come to Highlands' Las Vegas Campus.

On-Site Courses

All NMHU on-site courses are offered in the evenings and on weekends to accommodate the working community. Each semester, Highlands University offers BSW and MSW courses using live instruction, Interactive Television and WEBCT to New Mexico State University-Carlsbad, New Mexico Junior College in Hobbs, and Clovis Community College. Sequential Course Mapping Highlands' course schedules are on a two-year rotational sequence, which enables students to map out their educational goals for the future.

Distance Education Courses

Highlands University also offers distance education courses through electronic communication for students interested in social work degrees. A minimum number of students 15 BSW and 10 MSW are required in order of offer live instruction at each site. Classes meet once a week in the evenings or weekends to accommodate working students and are taught by NMHU faculty or professional social workers from the community.

Who Can Apply?

The dual-degree bachelor program allows students who are pursuing an associate's degree from an accredited community/junior college to apply to Highlands. Students who qualify may concurrently enroll into both the two-year college and Highlands University. Students who have enrolled and completed course work towards a bachelor's degree from other accredited institutions also may apply.

Students who have an earned bachelors degree from an accredited college or university may apply for the part-time seven (7) semester Master of Social Work degree (MSW). All courses are taught either by NMHU faculty or adjuncts from the professional social workers in the community.
