Emphasis Area 12 Hours
Candidates will select an emphasis area in consultation with their Educational Graduate Advisor for the field(s) of study selected. Emphasis area options are broad and may be designated to meet individual needs. In formulating plans for the emphasis areas, candidates and advisors must consider various limitations: a) the frequency of offerings of required 500 and 600 level courses, both during the Fall and Spring semesters and in the summer sessions; b) any specific requirement from the State Department of Education; c) preparation to undertake advanced studies in the field; and, for candidates whose undergraduate degrees are from Highlands, d) the availability of appropriate 500-level courses in the emphasis area which were not taken previously at the 400 level. The emphasis area requires 12-credit hours.
