Recent professional literature on grief theory and treatment relevant to professional social work practice will be reviewed. Grief work as an aspect of attachment healing throughout the life cycle will be discussed. Interpersonal and intergenerational sources and manifestations of grief and sorrow will be address. Finally, grief work will be examined as a regular and essential aspect of professional self-care.
