It was late in the evening when an apparition of a pioneer woman appeared in a hotel window overlooking Las Vegas’ Plaza Park. Her story of hope and disappointment echoed through the bare winter trees bordering the park before she disappeared, replaced by more spirits and stories of life in Northern New Mexico.
