Cowboy Grappler Catapults to #1

Seth Wright, NMHU’s 125 lb wrestler has earned the spot as #1 in the nation in his respective weight class. Wright has also earned accolades this year as RMAC Wrestler of the Week on two separate occasions.

En route to earning the number one spot Wright accumulated a 10-2 record, a percentage of .833, and tallied two pins. One loss came from a forfeit during an early tournament and the other was to Central Oklahoma’s Casy Rowell. Rowell defeated Wright 4-0 and Wright later returned the favor in front of a roaring home crowd and beat Rowell with a score of 4-0.

Early on in the season Wright had a huge win against Adam State College’s Arsenia Barksdale, the current defending National Champion. Wright sailed through that match winning by a decision of 9-4. Barksdale has been the only RMAC wrestler that has been able to score on Wright and he has held his opponents scoreless in his last five appearances.
