Dining Services

Food Services are available to both commuting and resident students. Commuting students may choose to purchase a la carte meals with cash, sign up for a meal plan or purchase a meal card though the Business Office.

Resident students are required to purchase a meal plan and may eat in the Cantina or the Archuleta Hall Dining Hall. Meal plans are available in the Office of Housing and Student Conduct.
For more information, call (505) 454-3193.

The Student Center Cantina is open during the following hours:

  • Monday through Friday:  9a.m. – 2 p.m.

Resident students may also dine in the Archuleta Hall Dining Hall during the following hours:

  • Monday through Friday
    • Breakfast:   7 am – 9 am
    • Lunch:  11 am – 1 pm
    • Dinner:  4:30 pm – 6 pm
  • Saturday and Sunday
    • Brunch:  11 am – 1 pm
    • Dinner:   4:30 pm – 6 pm

A student identification card (ID) must be presented each time you enter the dining hall. (If you have a problem, contact the Director of Food Services immediately. If you lose your ID card, you can get a replacement at Student Academic Support Services, in the Felix Martinez Center.)  Meals are “all you can eat” while in the dining hall; food may not be carried out. Meal service is not available during break periods. For other questions about food services or meal plans, contact Housing & Student Conduct, Rm. 207, Student Center, 454-3193.

Meal Plans

Students on a residence hall contract are required to have a meal plan. Students may use them only for their own meals. Students may use their meal plan in the Archuleta Dining Hall or in the Cantina once a day for a value meal. Other purchases in the Cantina are cash only (including any purchases over the cost of the value meal). The 7, 10, or 15 meals are available each week and do not carry over; meals not used during the week are lost.

Changes in meal plans can be made only during the first two weeks of each semester.

Students who wish to make a change during this period should go to the Housing Office to fill out a brief form requesting the change. (If you change to a more expensive plan, you should make arrangements with the Business Office to pay the difference; changes to a less expensive plan will result in a credit to your account.)

Cantina

Hours for the Cantina are 9 am – 2 pm, Monday-Friday. Grilled foods, salads and cold sandwiches are available, as well as fountain beverages and snack items.

Sick Trays

If you are sick and unable to go to the dining hall for a meal, you can have a friend pick up a meal for you. Sick Trays are limited to the Archuleta Dining Hall. To obtain a sick tray, contact the Dining Hall Manager. When you pick up the sick tray you will need to provide your ID. The cashier will record the meal and provide a to-go box and cup, which must be filled by the student. Any available items on the line may be used.

Sack Lunches

To obtain a sack lunch, a student must complete a request form (available from the cashier in the dining hall) the day before the lunch is wanted. You must specify for which meal the sack lunch is wanted that day, at which meal you will pick it up and whether you want ham or turkey sandwiches. (The sack lunch also includes chips, dessert, and soda.) Sack lunches can be requested for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or all three.
