Department of Nursing RN-BSN Online Program
Our accredited online RN to BSN Program at Highlands University is designed for registered nurses to earn a bachelor’s degree. Our program prepares graduates for higher-level nursing positions in patient care, management and community health. Our graduates become leaders in the nursing profession, and nearly half pursue advanced degrees in nursing (i.e. nurse practitioner, nursing education, and nurse midwife).
Our strong partnerships with associate degree nursing programs like the one at Luna Community College make it much easier for students to transition into our BSN Program.
Earning your BSN is a gateway to a variety of exciting nursing jobs with potential for higher pay. Dr. Peter Buerhaus, a premier researcher on the future of the nursing workforce, predicts that more than half of the nurses in the country will retire within the next 20 years, resulting in a big nursing shortage and high demand for this field within the next decade.
In addition, a new trend evolving in the healthcare profession is that employers are looking for nurses with greater levels of education, giving our BSN graduates a competitive edge in the job market.
