Your Future

New Mexico Highlands University Santa Fe Center is the place to study for courses and degrees in business administration, social work, and arts and sciences degrees.

Are you interested in a career in criminal justice, psychology, or teaching? We are here at the Center to assist you with your future.

We’ve got your back

We know how hard it is to juggle work, family, and school; so to help you out, we have resources like HU CARES, a support service program for our students. That, combined with a caring staff and a flexible study schedule that adjusts to yours, gives you everything you need to succeed.

NMHU Santa Fe in the Community

NMHU Santa Fe Center hosts many community engagement events.

We have a transfer partnership with Santa Fe Community College and other two-year community colleges. We also conduct outreach to local high schools, college and career fairs, and community events.

Working with Santa Fe Community College, we develop partnerships with government and the local business community. We also have meeting space for both NMHU and non-NMHU entities.

We welcome the opportunity to show you all that the NMHU Santa Fe Center provides.

Degrees Available at the Santa Fe Center

NEW: Are you the outdoors type? Ask about our award-winning forestry program.

Undergraduate degrees
We offer degree programs for in-demand careers in business administration, criminal justice, psychology, and social work.

New Mexico needs teachers! We will prepare you for employment in early childhood multicultural education, elementary education, and special education.

Graduate degrees
NMHU’s Santa Fe Center gives you the chance to continue your education with advanced degrees in business administration, education, and social work. We offer a unique dual degree combining an MBA and social work. Our masters’ degrees include clinical social work and counseling, as well as curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, and special education.

Course Delivery Methods

We know you have critical obligations to your family and your job, so we help you build your future around all of it.

Our teaching methods include live, face-to-face classes with day, evening, and Saturday hours. We have intensive 8- and 16-week courses for some of our short-term programs.

If your schedule doesn’t let you get away from work or home for long, try our online, synchronous classes which have a designated meeting time and day. Can’t commit to that? We also have online, asynchronous classes that you can take when you have time, whether that’s at 11 a.m. or 3 o’clock in the morning.

Check with an admissions counselor about our expanded online degree programs, and let’s get you moving toward your future.

Student Services Available

Your first stop at the center will be with a student support specialist. We have both walk-in and appointment times available. Call 505-426-2131 to discuss advisement options.

Professional advisement is available to help you determine the best career options for you.

We will then guide you through the process of admissions, registration, transferring, and getting financial aid. We can also help you decide on a pre-major path.

From start to finish, we are here for you.

Financial aid training and information

HU Cares
HU Cares provides support and counseling for students who are victim/survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. We are active in suicide prevention. Services include counseling, advocacy, and connecting with community providers about emotional distress and substance / alcohol abuse. These services are confidential and free for all NMHU students.

Veterans’ Affairs
The VA requires that veterans have applications for payment verified by the institution, and we will help with that. The Santa Fe Center veterans’ certifying official is Andrea Crespin. She can be reached at 505-454-3424 or arcrespin@nmhu.edu.
